The Randwick school band and string programs are designed to foster students’ musical abilities and love of music.
Membership within these programs provide a unique opportunity for your child to learn an instrument, experience the pleasures of performing, and develop important teamwork skills.
All students, K-6, are eligible to join the string program, while all year 3-6 students are eligible to join the band program. Students are not required to read music or play an instrument to join, however, they must demonstrate their commitment by attending weekly rehearsals and tutorials, as well as practising their instruments at home. Our string ensembles and bands regularly perform at school and at public events. Notable annual performances are held at the Festival of Instrumental Music at the Sydney Opera House, the NSW band festival, and the Daceyville Big Band Bash.
In 2022, Randwick Public School’s diverse band and string programs will cater for over 200 students across 7 ensembles. Our ensembles include a:
- Training string ensemble,
- Intermediate string ensemble,
- Senior string ensemble,
- Chamber string ensemble,
- Training band,
- Intermediate band, and a
- Senior performance band.
Our band and string programs are managed by The Music Partnership, with the support from both the school and the P&C run Music Committee. For further information about our band and string programs, please contact The Music Partnership via email: email@example.com
