Wellbeing
At Randwick Public School, student wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do. We create a safe, inclusive and supportive environment where every child feels valued, connected and ready to learn. Our wellbeing initiatives focus on building positive relationships, fostering resilience and helping students develop lifelong social and emotional skills.
How we support student wellbeing
Supporting each student’s mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing is part of everyday school life.
We do this through:
- teachers who help students feel welcome and included
- access to school counsellors, school psychologists and specialist staff
- programs that support health, social skills, attendance and positive behaviour
- help for students who are new or changing year levels
- clear expectations for behaviour and respectful relationships
- staff who get to know each child and work closely with families
- developing health care plans for students
- open communication about wellbeing and support.

Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL)
Positive Behaviour for Learning is our whole-school approach to creating a positive and respectful learning environment. Through explicit teaching and consistent expectations, we support students to make positive choices, take responsibility for their behaviour and contribute to a safe and caring school community.
Our School Values and House System
At Randwick Public School, our core values Be Responsible, Be Respectful, Be a Learner guide everything we do. These values are taught, modelled and celebrated across the school, helping students learn how to work together, care for others and take pride in their learning and actions.
Our House System builds on these values by creating a strong sense of belonging and school spirit. Through teamwork, pastoral care and peer activities, students form meaningful connections and develop confidence, motivation and pride in their achievements.
Students earn House Points for demonstrating our PBL values through positive behaviours such as effort, achievement, attitude and citizenship. Points are recorded in Sentral and displayed in real time throughout the school, recognising and celebrating success.
Each term, students come together for a House Gala Afternoon led by our Year 6 House Leaders. The House with the highest total is awarded the House Cup and celebrated in a special ceremony, which is always a highlight of our school calendar.
Promoting Wellbeing and Positive Relationships
At Randwick Public School, we are committed to supporting the wellbeing of every student. These programs and initiatives help our students feel safe, connected and confident, while building the skills they need to care for themselves and others.
Randwick Values in Action
Randwick Values in Action is our whole-school approach to helping students feel safe, supported and ready to learn. We know that children thrive when expectations are clear, routines are consistent and the learning environment feels predictable and kind.
Every classroom at Randwick PS follows the same routines and expectations, from Kindergarten to Year 6. This consistency helps students understand what is expected of them and allows them to focus on learning, building friendships and feeling confident at school.
Through short, focused lessons, teachers explicitly teach and model our school values and students practise these behaviours through discussion and role play. We create a calm, positive environment where every child knows they belong and can succeed.
The Resilience Project
Through The Resilience Project, students learn practical strategies to build gratitude, empathy and mindfulness. Lessons focus on developing emotional literacy and supporting positive mental health, helping students manage challenges and thrive both at school and in life.
